The university has a number of places for first-year students accredited by the Department of Higher Education and Training. You can apply for admission to two qualifications, so you want to apply for a lower qualification in addition to your elective qualification. For example, if you want to apply for a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), you can also apply for an advanced certificate at the College of Economic and Management Sciences to ensure you meet all relevant admission requirements. A Higher National Certificate (NSC) (Degree Endorsement) with at least 50% in the language of instruction and learning and at least 50% in mathematics, or a Senior Certificate (SC) with exemption from enrolment (or entitlement to an exemption from the registration authority) and with at least one symbol D on HG or one symbol C on SG in the language of instruction and learning and with at least one D symbol on HG or candidate C, who do not meet the above eligibility requirements must apply for a lower NQF qualification for which they meet the legal and additional requirements.
